Abstract
Considers provisions in the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2003 on victim statements, under which the victim of an offence may make a statement as to how he has been affected by the offence. Critically examines the objectives of the scheme and whether they are achievable, their therapeutic impact and the practical difficulties in implementing the scheme.
