Abstract
This is a scholarly edition of the songs James Hogg contributed to published musical collections or published as single song sheets during his lifetime (1770-1835). It includes facsimilie copies of the musical sources along with detailed editorial notes and apparatus. It acts as a companion volume to the new critical edition of Hogg's last collection of songs 'Songs by the Ettrick Shepherd' in the Stirling/South Carolina research edition of the Collected Works of James Hogg published by Edinburgh University Press.
