Abstract
This chapter examines the work of three twentieth-century Scottish poets - Marion Angus, Liz Lochhead and Kathleen Jamie - analysing the themes of memory and childhood, Scots vernacular and culture and archetypes of femininity in their work. It also interrogates each poet's engagement with ideas of Scottishness and female identity.
