The measurement of D_s⁺ and D⁺ meson decays into K*⁺ K*⁰

Abstract

Using the ARGUS detector at the e⁺ e^- storage ring DORIS II at DESY, we have observed the decays D⁺→ K^- K⁰ π⁺ π⁺ and D_s⁺→ K^- K⁰ π⁺ π⁺. The branching ratios were determined to be BR(D⁺→ K^- K⁰ π⁺ π⁺)= (1.0±0.5±0.3)% and BR(D_s⁺→ K^- K⁰ π⁺ π⁺)/BR(D_s⁺→ø π⁺)= 1.2±0.2±0.2. These decays are found to proceed mostly via the <span style="text-decoration: overline">K</span>*⁰ K*⁰ decay channel, with BR(D⁺<span style="text-decoration: overline">K</span>*⁰ K*⁰)=2.6±0.8±0.7)% and BR(D_s⁺<span style="text-decoration: overline">K</span>*⁰ K*⁰)/BR(D_s⁺→ø π⁺) = 1.6±0.4±0/4.
