Abstract

An analysis of Jiri Menzel's film adaptations of literary works by Czech writer Bohumil Hrabal. The point of departure for the article is Jan Culik's keynote interview with Menzel which took place at a conference of historians at Imre Kertezs Kolleg at Friedrich Schiller University in Jena, Germany, in July 2011.
