The aim of the study was to explore and review evidence and current activity around community-based health improvement in Scotland. The objectives were: to examine the evidence underpinning community-based approaches to health improvement; to gain an insight into the characteristics of effective and less effective partnership working between the different stakeholders involved in community-based health improvement.
