Abstract
This review essay looks at seven Hogg texts recently published in the Stirling/South Carolina collection. It explores the construction of Hogg as Romantic, as well as examining his publishing history and his relationship with Walter Scott. The essay also analyses Hogg's literary experimentation and his use of vernacular Scots.
