Abstract

This article describes the design and implementation of teaching software for the STELLA (Software for the Teaching of English Language and Literature and its Assessment) project. Computer-based materials for teaching Old English, Stylistics, metrics, and Renaissance lexis have been successfully incorporated into English language and literature courses at Glasgow University. We examine some of the pedagogical implications of teaching with new technology and discuss some of our plans for the future.
