Abstract

Jan Čulík interviews French historian Dr. Muriel Blaive about the shocking circumstances of an extremely biased "competition" for the head of the questionable Czech "Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes". Dr. Blaive, the only female and non-Czech candidate for the post, was eliminated from the competitiomn on a silly pretext, even though she had submitted a brilliant document proposing turning this ideological institution into a proper academic research centre. Some of the members of the Institute for Totalitarian regimes have displayed rather alarming, sexist attitudes to Dr. Blaive, even publishing mocking sexual innuendo directed against her on social media. The interview was broadcast by the Czech cable TV station Regionalnitelevize.cz from 1st March, 2022
