Abstract

A recent comment by Jan Čulík that it is unacceptable that journalists should ethnically profile perpetrators of criminal acts in their reports, produced racist orgies on the internet in the Czech Republic. Similarly, a number of Czech citizens reacted to Bohumil Kartous anti-racist article by proclaiming that they are proud racists. Why is racism so strong in Czech society, what are its causes and its characteristics? Jan Čulík discusses these issues with the Brazilian anthropologist and journalist Fabiano Golgo. This interview was broadcast by the Czech cable TV station Regionalnitelevize.cz from 7th January 2022.
