Abstract

This article looks at the history of development of antiepileptic drugs, with a comprehensive list of the compounds in use for treatment of epilepsy in the past century. Common pitfalls and difficulties with drugs are listed to help allow the reader to focus on the problems sometimes associated with managing this challenging and fascinating condition.
