Abstract

A paper in which I demonstrated how teachers can effectively approach authentic academic texts when teaching reading strategies to EFL learners preparing to study at university. I used an academic journal article to illustrate structured tasks (de Chazal, 2014) and reflect on anecdotal classroom observation of students on a 20-week course. Anecdotal observations suggested that increasing level of engagement with academic texts.
