Abstract

An Industry-focused project report on the AHRC-funded Incubate Propagate Research Network 2018-19. The report focuses on the findings to the key question: how might we collectively overcome challenges and identify opportunities that might facilitate greater socio-economic diversity within artist development structures in the fields of theatre and performance? The report addresses five sections: 1) From Participation to Professional Artist 2) Independent Producers 3) Theatre Institutions 4) Universities 5) Cultural Hierarchies and Classifications. It outlines the issues raised, and the actions recommended from the network workshops, and highlights existing good practice. A full list of participants is included in the appendix.
