Abstract
The article traces the forgotten history of two “Malabari” synagogues and their Jewish cemeteries in Cochin. The authors address the reasons underlying the neglect and even erasure of these heritage sites as opposed to the preservation of the “White” Jewish synagogue and cemetery, that are currently exclusively associated with the Jewish history of Cochin.
