Abstract
Various theories have emerged regarding common neural pathways between autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other conditions. Assumptions such as this are bolstered by the high rate of overlap with other genetic conditions such as epilepsy. This chapter describes the disorder, its prevalence and relationship to ASD.
