Abstract

In the first of three TV interviews, Jan Čulík talks to the world-famous journalist Jolyon Naegele, who used to be the Voice of America Central Europe correspondent under communism. They discuss Mr. Naegele's journalistic experience and talk about what made him interested in the politics of Czechoslovakia, Czech Republic and Central and Eastern Europe. Jolyon Naegele graduated in Czech Studies from UCL in London and is one of many glorious examples of graduates in Slavonic Studies from UK universities who have had world changing careers with a truly global impact. The interview was broadcast by the Czech cable TV station Regionalnitelevize.cz from 31st July 2020.
