Abstract

High-throughput sequencing of the transcriptome has revealed many different species of non-coding RNAs that vary widely in size, abundance, structure and function. MicroRNA and long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) have gained considerable interest because of their pervasive roles in gene regulation and related therapeutic implications. In this chapter, we describe some of the physiological and pathological roles played by miRNA and lncRNA in relation to the vascular system.
