Abstract

Lauren Wilks has been added as second co-author. This addition does not affect the acknowledgements and does not create conflicts of interest. Nughmana Mirza carried out the research and analysis for the article and wrote the main drafts; the pronoun ‘I’ and the words ‘the researcher’, used throughout the article, refer to her. Lauren Wilks identified key literature and contributed to the theoretical framework of the research. This input by both authors was omitted from the version of the article published as: Nughmana, M. (2018) Reframing agency in abusive contexts: beyond ‘free choice’ and ‘open resistance’, Journal of Gender-Based Violence, 2(1): 41–56 (16). doi: 10.1332/239868017X15127297709475.
