Abstract

The finite integral technique has been used to model the resonant frequencies and external Q-factors of dielectric resonators placed on integrated circuit substrates. The modelled results are shown to be accurate compared with experimental results. The modelled results for the dielectric resonator placed onto a substrate are compared with the modelled results for an isolated resonator, and the effect of the substrate upon the electric and magnetic fields is shown.
