Abstract

Since 2002, ANVISA, with universities, do activities of product for health advertisement monitoring. During 2009, a new project began, related to the monitoring steps. It aimed to teach people and communication professionals. During the monitoration several legal infractions were detected in different kinds of medias, including the radio. Thus, the need to discuss the subject out of the regulatory organs arose because the irregularities go beyond the legal field and go to the social field. It must be treated like a problem of the public health. The lack of knowledge of communication professionals leads to legal irregularities, and the lack of knowledge of the patients leads to a potentially dangerous selfmedication. Aiming to aware the broadcasters of their social role in disclosing health products, an event was done and educative material was distributed. With the objective to teach the community about the adequate use of these products, such as medicines and food, the project intervened in an scholar community through educative activities with children of fundamental teaching and their parents. Not only the activities with broadcasters but also the pedagogical activities were considered effective, since they arose the interest and the curiosity of people about the themes, what characterized a positive outcome of this work.
