Abstract

At the start of a process of study and review, leading to the drafting of a new Eucharistic Liturgy, the Liturgy Committee of the Scottish Episcopal Church offers a collection of studies about some of the principles of liturgical revision and renewal, beginning here by setting out various ideas based on a range of scholarship and practical knowledge. This special issue of the SEI Journal offers work mainly by members of the Liturgy Committee, but also includes several invited contributions from specialists outside the Committee. The articles do not represent any settled opinion of the Liturgy Committee but rather the considered thoughts of the individual contributors at the outset of a process.
