Abstract

Formative assessment is an integral part of quality higher education where effective feedback helps students take ownership of learning, and strategise to reduce the gap between their existing state of learning and expected standards. Despite such benefits the uptake of formative assessment is limited in the context of technology courses at universities in Bangladesh. Considering accessibility potential and the reusability feature of assessment tasks in technology based solutions formative e-assessment is suggested in this conceptual paper for implementation in Bangladesh context. Recommendations are made for research based intervention and small-scale pilots before scaling up.
