Abstract

Dynamics of basic elements of nonlinearly elastic structures - rods, plates and shells - is studied. We consider the problems of bulk nonlinear elastic wave (strain solitons) generation and observation in these elements in order to show how the waves can be used in various applications, in non-destructive evaluation etc.
