Abstract

This paper presents design of a small size and low cost textile-based microstrip patch antenna for on-body applications. The antenna consists of an E-shaped radiating patch operating at 2.4 GHz. Good simulation results with −19.441 dB of return loss and a −10 dB impedance bandwidth of 580 MHz make this design very promising for wearable applications. The textile dielectric substrate leads to an easy integration of the antenna in garments.
