Abstract
The work deals with the design aspects of single-mode silicon wire waveguides for micro-ring resonators (MRRs) in network-on-chip (NoC) applications. Estimation of bending loss of the bend waveguides and computation of lateral mode profile of the waveguides are also included. Effective-index based matrix method (EIMM) is used as our computation tool which is less computation intensive than other commercially available software, such as, FDTD or BPM.
