Abstract

A new numerical method for calculating the full wave time domain electromagnetic field is presented. The method, developed from a propagator solution of Maxwell's equations, is based upon finding the fields at a point in numerical space due to radiation from the field at the causal boundary surrounding that point. We briefly review previous propagator methods and the development of the current method. The numerical equations and some results for cases in which the wave propagates through multiple dielectric regions are presented and compared to results obtained with the FDTD method for the same structures.
