Abstract

This article discusses laminate performance, relating to the post-critically stable in-plane response, for double angle-ply laminates (with ±y and ±f ply orientations), which are stiffness matched to standard symmetric laminate configurations; all with fully uncoupled stiffness properties. Results are normalised against the fully isotropic laminate response in order to highlight laminate configurations that maximise post critical in-plane stiffness.
