Abstract

Paul Mason, the economic commentator and now a Labour Party activist, has recently pointed out that as a result of neoliberalism, everything is now assessed exclusively from the point of view of profit, as though there were no other, more important ways of assessment. He warned the left wing political parties that they must be able to address votes much more emotionally and show that they care about their existential problems. Are the reasons for the current wave of popular discontent now identical both in the East and in the West? Jan Čulík talks to Daniel Veselý, a Czech foreign affairs analyst, about the current situation in the United States within the context of political developments in Central Europe. The interview was broadcast by the Czech cable TV station Regionalnitelevize.cz from 21st December 2018.
