Abstract
During the thermal poling of glass, a the thin depletion region is formed under the anodic interface with a second order nonlinearity. Makers fringe technique is preferred to destructive chemical etching methods. A variation of the MFT is proposed to overcome the limitation of the internal angle. Nonlinear depths were obtained to determine the theoretical curves that fit the data. The results show that for the two samples poled for 5 minutes and 30 minutes nonlinear depths are 4.8 m and 8 m respectively.
