Abstract
Czechoslovak emigrants who left their country for the West after the 1948 communist takeover mostly failed in their careers there, while Czechoslovak emigrants who left their country for the West after the Soviet invasion of 1968 were mostly spectacularly successful in their careers there, ending up with top university jobs, not only in Europe but also in the US and particularly in Canada. In this TV interview, broadcast by the Czech cable TV Regionalnitelevize.cz from 6th April, 2018, Jan Čulík talks to Francis Raška, a specialist in the history of Czechoslovak emigration to the West in the 20th century, discussing those issues that are mentioned above.
