Abstract

This book studies the role of the concept of the Middle Ages in colonies and former colonies around the world. Shifting the focus to the colonies, it offered largely untapped perspectives from which to consider the impact and aftermath of European colonialism world wide, as well as the role of temporality in contemporary global structures of power.
