Abstract
This article sets out to demonstrate that Francoist censorship still plays an important role in Spanish intellectual life. Firstly, it shows that during the Spanish Transition the attempts to publish formerly banned books or uncensored versions of texts lacked institutional support. Secondly, it examines several restored translations and original works in order to highlight the challenges faced by writers, translators and publishers when dealing with the legacy of Franco’s censorship.
