Abstract

Inverse solution of the helicopter equations of motion involves the calculation of the control sequences required to fly a defined manoeuvre. A package capable of performing such solutions has been developed and is briefly described in this paper. These inverse solutions have given some insight into potential stability problems associated with constrained flight, and a technique for predicting these instabilities has been developed.
