Abstract

In this interview, Jan Čulík speaks to Antonín J. Liehm (92) , a major Czech cultural commentator and a witness to all the important cultural and political events of the second half of the twentieth century. In the 1950s and 1960s, A. J. Liehm was on staff of the Prague-based liberal cultural and political weekly Literární noviny. He talks about their liberalisation activities during the fifteen years which came before the 1968 Prague Spring. The interview was broadcast by the Czech cable TV station Regionalnitelevize.cz from 10th March 2017.
