Abstract

Video presentation (duration 3'49) about four basslines for the fiddle tune Invercald's Rant, all appearing in Scottish printed sources between 1761 and 1790. The basslines demonstrate a surprising variety of views about the harmonic structure of the tune. The presentation was produced at the North Atlantic Fiddle Convention 2015 at Cape Breton University.
