Abstract
This article focuses on the Catalan post-war publishing sector and the importance of translation in Catalonia during Franco’s dictatorship. The first part explores the ways in which the international press (Le Monde, Le Nouvel Observateur, Le Monde Diplomatique, Le Figaro Littéraire, Europe) reported on the sudden growth of translation into Catalan in the 1960s. The second part focuses on the crisis that affected the publishing sector in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
