Abstract

Thermal Rossby waves appear by thermoconvective instabilities in the liquid core of rotating planets. Our study, which uses 2D quasigeostrophic models and 3D models, the latters being used to validate the formers, shows that the heating mode, internal or external, can modify the nature of the bifurcation towards these waves.
