Abstract
The context for this Special Issue is a coming together of dance and neuroscience which is part of a wider re-evaluation of connections between arts and sciences. It has an innovative format suited to the material, as this is the first time that Dance Research is publishing an exclusively online issue, which not only enables the research to be disseminated more rapidly to the scholarly community but also makes it possible to present material in greater depth and detail and to include media files.
