Abstract

This essay analyzes the way in which Spanish Avant-Garde and modernist writing encapsulates many of the theoretical questions which were later explored by the theorists and philosophers of post-structuralism, with specific reference to Ramón Gómez de la Serna's experimental novel El hombre perdido (1947). In particular, the article takes Deleuze and Guattari's notion of "nomadology" and "schizoanalysis" as critical tools to study the open-endedness and the multi-layered subjective experience of inhabiting the urban space of Buenos Aires.
