Abstract
In this volume the roles played by the press in Hispanic cultural networks in building, transmit, transform and mediate ideas and representations are explored. With this perspective shared theme, its 16 contributions establish a dialogue that crosses disciplinary boundaries between historical, discursive, literary and cultural studies. Thus weaves a dialogue that bridges time and space: it starts in the late eighteenth century and reaches the XXI century, spanning the times of massive boom of the press and its most triumphant times to the latest digital challenges, and It is going from Manila to New York, from Thessaloniki to Madrid, Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile, always with the ambition to elucidate the specific context of the communication process with your local gear.
